How Essential Oils Can Help You Cope With SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder)

Did you know that certain blends of essential oils can help cope with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

Certain essential oils, such as lavender. bergamot, and citrus oils, are known for their mood-boosting properties.  Inhaling these oils through diffusion, direct inhalation or roll-on can help improve your mood and alleviate feelings of sadness and depression.

Essential oils like lavender, chamomile, and frankincense are known for their calming and stress-reducing effects.  They help reduce the anxiety and stress often experienced by individuals with SAD.

Peppermint, rosemary, and eucalyptus essential oils can provide and energy boost and enhance mental clarity. Using these oils may help combat the lethargy and difficulty concentrating that can accompany SAD.

SAD can disrupt sleep patterns.  Lavender, cedarwood, and valerian essential oils are know for their sleep-inducing properties and may help individuals with SAD get better quality sleep.

To use essential oils for SAD

Diffuse oils in your home especially i the morning to start your day with a positive atmosphere.

Use essential oil blends (available custom blended at The Body Bar) roll-on applied onto your pulse points and/or to the soles of your feet.  

Use in a warm bath to aid in relaxation.
